Being a Someone.
Sem 2 has officially started for 2 weeks and here come the week 3. WOW~
Despite of the hectic timetable I had and the wrong timing and the wrong lecturers I pick, I'm still in a not-doing-anything mode though.
Finally done my first KK event ever last week, MONSTHIRD. It was everyone's first experience on having this event with 5 projects under Monsthird. It was basically an event with different traditional mini games and competition going around and there were booths selling various type of food, beverages, t- shirts and small little thingy like our DIY Bookmark.

"Check out the TREESssssss...." hahaha
First time becoming the usherer of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and I still think I was the funniest and blurriest usherer ever~ LOL
But it was great to have our pretty multech HOD, Kenness as my partner. =)
Should never expect a huge crowd will actually appear during the 3 days because it is a KK event. Well that's the truth, because if I weren't part of the committees, I would choose to go out or just being back to my home instead of hanging around my hostel. (I'm being too honest for that.. LOL)
But, I do expect that I could finish selling the bookmarks and hanging them on our signature Pokok Tanjung, since that was my idea to make that tree as a Wishing tree.
Jeng jeng, The Pokok Tanjung in KK3!
I didn't know the pokok looked a bit senget leh... XD
We even put a plastic cover on top to make it waterproof and it was very useful indeed!
The plan didn't go on well, as what I said earlier, only a small bunch of people who came down and support our event or perhaps we set our bookmark price too high which cost RM1 for each. But I feel thankful for those who spent their time with us and the committees who willing to write down their wishes and literally supported my idea. The 3 days spent were indeed tiring but we almost spent our days playing around with giant bubbles and watching people playing "baling selipar", not to forget booth-hopping. XD
What made me happier is when Ivan brought his two friends who came from US, Mike and Daven. I managed to introduce our event to Mike and he complimented on the idea of making Pokok Tanjung as a Wishing Tree. *Feeling proud. Then, we played 'Saboteur' card game with Daven, he seemed to be very interested to the game and we really enjoyed playing the game with him. It feels like my courage has improved a little on approaching other people from other countries. And without noticing I actually changed my accent when I was talking with them. LOL
Though the whole process of preparing this event was tiring, I'm glad that I got to know more friends through this event. No matter we end up being close or not, at least we would say Hi when we meet each other right? And that's satisfying enough. Since I wasn't a very good programmer... HAHA.
We are the MONSTERS!
They sure made me laugh a lot when we were doing our duties together. =D
And thanks to our super nice, friendly and cute director, Jinq Wen for being so considerate to us and treated us nasi lemak for the early comers! Hehe
And then, back to my marketing job, we finally changed our fb profile picture!
Hi, I'm Zi Huey from CP Marketing Department! =)
Despite my awkward pose, bad hair style and super round face, at least I'm a Someone of a Something. LOL
We have almost come to an end on calling companies yet the counselor still throw in another platinum to me and now we have 4 platinum sponsors, and I "proudly" to say that I'm holding 2 platinum sponsors now. YAYYYYYYYY =/ Not like I'm not happy with it, it's just why you have to do it last minute when you told us we should stop calling out for sponsors. You Win then.
Despite I complained a lot while doing this job and spent an heart-breaking amount of money of calling companies, I do learn a lot on how to deal with the companies when there are special occasions, requests and incidents. Learnt how to liaise with the companies and other departments. Learnt how to talk on the phone politely. Having patience on being transfer here and there while calling the general line and being rejected at the end. Learnt the way to follow up with companies for updates. And lastly, which I'm still not good at, persuading people to make decisions.
Well, there are still a lot of work to go, 2 weeks left and the roadshow will be started next week. Hopefully my first business club event will be a success in the end,
COME AND SUPPORT ME ON 25TH AND 26TH OF MARCH PEEPOS!
(though I don't think anyone will know, haha)
Nights. Thanks to the fire drill practice at 1am.
